ran my 03 2500 6 liter pu totally out of fuel filled it but now it wont start turns over great but theres a padlock over truck light on the dash i have never seen this before some kinda security code HOW DO I GET THE THING TO FIRE UP Im to old to walk far and I live in the boonies LOL thx for the help

??? I know they can shut off because they can do damage without any fuel. Maybe just wait it out or disconnect the battery and turn the lights on, then reconnect and see if that turns it back on.

well I have an opinion...
When you ran out of gas you may have blown your fuel pump and now whenever the pump tries to turn on it may blow all the fuses.
If you ruined and blew the fuel pump, then you just kept putting gas down the throttle body which would cause your truck to start, I believe this only works if your vehicle has a mechanical fuel pump.
You could have also flooded the engine and may have ruined the plugs doing that.
I think for your truck a fuel pump is like $600.00, its a big job, i think you have to take the bed out to do it..then you will have to drop the fuel tank and change it.
Its just my thought, GOOD LUCK! Maybe take it to a mechanic and check it out...Poor truck
